In Class Work
Reflection: Today in class we had to produce a work that explores line and direction (movement) using any 2 of the allocated materials. I was instantly drawn towards the pvc conduit so I tried to experiment with it. I've decided that I want to manipulate the form of the conduit by heating it up with a heat gun. The heat applied to each piece of conduit varies which makes it more interesting in my opinion. After heating them, I tried twisting them in different ways, some more than others, and dipped them in cold water so the form would stay. The next material I picked was the twine. Cutting them up into pieces, I thought of how else I could reactivate its materiality so I tried bundling them up and unrolling some of the pieces (which turns out to just be a piece of paper rolled). I liked this effect so I combined it with the conduit spirals I've made prior and came up with the final form.

I thought that the lines from the conduit and the way it twists and spirals make the form interesting. The twines also serve as an extension to the forms, making it appear as some sort of plant or animal in the landscape.
Homework
Reflection: For the homework task, we had to produce a visualisation of a linear installation work that incorporates elements of works from another artist. For this task, I chose Jen Stark's work, Box 1 (2014) and photoshopped it on the corner of the Z9 building. I think that the way the installation respond to the edges of the building looks interesting. It looks as if it either protrudes or carves in from it.
