Today, I got this notification from my daily horoscope app and thought that it is very relevant especially now that we are getting so busy with studio and other uni assessments:
This week, I am starting a new artwork. Inspired by my work Coercion, I have continued to look at classical mythologies, specifically the God of desire and attraction-- Cupid (Kupido). Though Cupid's iconography were frequently used as a motif in Roman and Western Art, I wanted to focus more on how it was seen in the Middle ages under the Christian influence, where the dual nature of heavenly and earthly love has begun. Today, in pop culture, Cupid is most popular during Valentine's Day. I wanted to combine all of these and make an artwork based on Cupid's arrows.

Using paper and skewers, I want to make one hundred arrows to fill up the install room (maybe more, but we'll see how I go).
After 2 hours, I have made 37 arrows using 37 arrows and 5 sheets of paper. I wasn't expecting it to take this long so I just thought I'd take a break and install them on the wall just to see how it looks.

Shooting Your Shot (2019)

After installing my work in the studio and talking to people about it, Isabella actually told me about this artist and artwork that is pretty similar to it but had no idea about.
